Key Stage 3: Course content
Drama at KS3 is an exciting addition to the school timetable and provides the opportunity for students to create, perform and evaluate pieces of drama. Through this process, students will learn about different styles of theatre and develop their confidence and ability when performing.
In Year 7, students will first be introduced to some basic performance skills, before studying units including: Early Man, Improvisation,Commedia Dell’Arte, Melodrama and Greek Theatre.
Year 7 Drama Curriculum
In Year 8, students will be studying more advanced schemes of work to develop performance skills, including: Physical Theatre, Theatre in Education, Masked Performance, Styles of Comedy and Theatre Practitioners.
Year 8 Drama Curriculum
In Year 9, the students will study units such as Holocaust, Gangs, Clowning and devising skills. They will experience writing and performing their own play.
Year 9 Drama Curriculum
Students will be following the Edexcel GCSE in Drama.
