Priory Academy has been licensed to run the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme since 1st June 2015. This is the world’s leading youth achievement award, giving millions of 14 to 24 year olds the opportunity to be the very best they can be.
The aim is to provide a balanced programme of activities that develops the whole person – mind, body and soul – in an environment of social interaction and team working. We have now seen the first enrolments at Bronze level and these students are working hard to complete their four different types of activity:
*One of these activities must last for a period of 6 months.
On 27th April 2016 two of the Year 10 students working towards their Bronze Award together with Mrs Smith, Headteacher and Mr Smith, the Academy’s DofE Manager, attended the Licence Presentation afternoon in Milton Keynes. We were very proud of both students who were both professional and assured as they made their presentations to the room.
