Priory Academy works hard to ensure that all pupils reach their full potential and achieve their targets.
A special “thank you”, as always, goes to our parents who did an exceptional job in helping prepare their Year 6 children, with many of them attending maths and English workshops at the school.
GCSE Results 2017
The results show that 75% of students achieved at least 5 good GCSEs including maths and English. These superb results are a tribute to the incredible hard work and dedication of our students, staff, parents and governors and are a testament to our school’s vision and values.
We are delighted to report the headline figures of:
Grade 9-4 in English and maths: 83.1%
Grade 9-5 in English and maths: 68.7%
5 or more GCSEs at grade A*-C (including maths and English at grade 4): 74.7%
5 or more GCSEs at grade A*-C (including maths and English at grade 5): 65.1%
We are particularly pleased to see the exceptionally strong results in mathematics and in Chemistry, Physics & Biology with 96% achieving grade 4+ and C+.

Under the new rigorous marking introduced this year for English and Maths – our particular congratulations go to: Layla Cobbett, Amy Roberts, Mark Riley for grade 9s in maths and Zak Merel, Praviga Kuganeswaran for grade 9s in English. The new grade 9 is for outstanding achievement above the level of an A* on the old marking system and only awarded to the top 3% in the country.
GCSE Results 2016
11 of our Year 10 students took 12 GCSEs exams in 2016 (a year early).
We would like to congratulate them all on this fantastic achievement.
* Statistics GCSE: 3 – A*, 7 – A and 1 – B
* Textiles GCSE: 1 – A.
