Key Stage 3: Course Content
We look to encourage a real interest in the Latin language and Roman civilisation.
In Year 7 students learn begin to learn latin word order and present tense whilst also looking at Civilisation topics such as The Roman villa and town life.
The year consolidates the work covered in Year 7 as well as moving to nominative plural, the dative case and how questions are formed. The Civilisation topics include the Roman theatre and plays, Roman baths, the education system and elections.
In Year 9 students will learn more about the use of imperfect and perfect tense and verb endings whilst also looking at Gladiators and the amphitheatre, farming and slavery, Mount Vesuvius and Life in Roman Britain.
