Priory Academy was granted planning permission by Central Bedfordshire Council (CB/22/01229/FULL) for the creation of a multi-use games area including fencing, hard standing and storage container at Priory Academy, Britain Street, Dunstable, LU5 4JA. The Central Bedfordshire Council Archaeology Team have advised that the permitted development area might contain archaeological heritage assets that could be impacted by the development. Priory Academy are working with Albion Archaeology to ensure an appropriate and approved scheme of works is in place which sets out how the impacts on the permitted development below-ground archaeological impact will be mitigated through a programme of archaeological strip, map, and sample investigation. Monitoring will be carried out on behalf of the LPA by the CBCAT. They will ensure that the agreed methodologies and procedures are adhered to and that professional standards are maintained. A full project archive will be compiled in accordance with Historic England (MoRPHE) standards and shared at the conclusion of the project.
